Cancellation Policy

Liability During all in-home or walking training sessions, you remain responsible for your dog’s behaviour and physical safety. You confirm your dog is healthy, vaccinated per your veterinarian’s guidance, and safe to participate in training. BetterDog is not liable for injuries, dog-to-dog conflict, or property damage that may occur in or around your home or neighbourhood. Required Gear For walking sessions, a 6-foot non-retractable leash is required. Your dog must wear a secure collar or harness that cannot slip off. For in-home sessions, please have your regular gear available, including leash, collar or harness, and any items your trainer has previously recommended. Retractable leashes are not permitted for any BetterDog services. Weather Policy For walking sessions, we continue unless weather conditions create a safety risk (thunder, lightning, extreme heat or cold, unsafe ice, or travel advisories). If BetterDog cancels due to weather, your session credit is automatically moved forward. If you choose to skip due to weather concerns, your credit also moves forward. No extra charges apply. Booking and Cancellations Please book or cancel your session at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel inside 48 hours, you keep the full credit for a future date. BetterDog does not charge additional or late-cancellation fees. Purpose of the Session In-home and walking training sessions focus on calm leadership, emotional regulation, and the BetterDog consent-based training system. Sessions may include leash work, household boundaries, Emotional Marking, Stress Gauge assessment, and any behaviour-specific guidance discussed with your trainer.
