Cancellation Policy

Liability During BetterDog in-home and walking sessions, you remain responsible for your dog’s supervision, handling, behaviour, and safety. You must disclose known health, behaviour, bite, reactivity, or medical concerns and confirm that your dog is fit to participate and vaccinated as recommended by your veterinarian. Dog training involves inherent risks, including falls, escape, bites, scratches, dog-to-dog conflict, illness, injury, death, and property damage. You agree to follow safety instructions and secure children, animals, hazards, and belongings when requested. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BetterDog, its owners, trainers, contractors, and agents are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from the services, except for liability caused by negligence, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or liability that cannot legally be excluded. Required Gear Walking sessions require a secure collar or harness and a 6-foot, non-retractable leash. Retractable leashes are not permitted. For in-home sessions, have your usual leash, collar or harness, treats, and recommended training items available. BetterDog may stop a session if equipment or conditions are unsafe. Weather and Safety BetterDog may cancel, postpone, relocate, shorten, or modify a walking session due to lightning, extreme temperatures, unsafe ice, poor air quality, travel advisories, or other safety concerns. If either party postpones for safety reasons, the session credit will move to a future date at no additional charge. Report any injury, bite, escape, illness, conflict, or property damage connected with a session promptly. Booking and Cancellations Sessions must be booked, cancelled, or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours retain the full session credit for a future date. No late-cancellation fee is charged. Rescheduling is subject to availability. Services BetterDog provides practical, consent-based coaching focused on calm leadership, emotional regulation, leash skills, household boundaries, and behaviour support. Results are not guaranteed. BetterDog does not provide veterinary, medical, emergency, or diagnostic services. By booking, you accept this policy.
